Shameful Act

In our country ,throwing shoes at politicians these days have become a casual occurence in public meetings or press conferences.
The first one was aimed at Mr.P.Chidambaram.Though I was indifferent in the beginning,my mother told me that in the US,shoes were thrown at Bush, not by a non-American."But look at the condition of India wherein one amongst us had did this shameful act."
Only then I realised what a shameful act has happened in our country.
But did it stop there? Two more such incidents followed this: One at Mr.Advani and the other was attempted by not so good college student for the sake of mere publicity at the PM himself?
Where are heading as a nation is a real big ?

NO LUCK FOR MUNNABHAI

"NO LUCK FOR MUNNABHAI" had been the Times of India Headlines on April 1st or for that matter the tag for previous day for news about Sanjay Dutt on CNN-IBN.

I really don't understand how the welleducated journalists used the word "luck" in this context as contesting in elections should never be one's luck. This is the unfortunate state of Indian Politics.

Munnabhai didnot get the privilege to contest the elections as he was sentenced to six years imprionment by the Mumbai anti terror court under the Arms Act in connection with 1993 Mumbai blasts and was disqualified from contesting the elections under the Section 8 (3) of the Representation of People Act,. and it is not that for no reason at all he was not allowed.

As per electoral laws, a person convicted for a criminal offence and sentenced to jail for more than two years is barred from running for elections.

But for people like me such debarrings is one of the pleasant news to hear.
