STINKING TRUTH

The Times of India(TOI) has recently reported that the garbage from Britian is being shipped to India as it is chepaer to transport to India(£40 (Rs 2,800) for one metric tonne of waste rather than treating it in Britain for which Britain needs to spend £148 (Rs 12,000) for treating one tonne of rubbish.

AUTHENTICITY OF OLYMPICS

Though I felt happy that Beijing was hosting the Olympics 2008 because I came to know that Beijing is the third Asian city to host the Olympics after Tokyo in 1962 and seol in 1988 as I strongly believe that the Asian countries should be no less competitor to the western world.

But news like that of He Kexin,the gymnast gold medalist in Olympics 2008 has questioned the authenticity of the Olympics as there is a dispute over her age.

Though her passport declares that she is 16 years old in 2008,there are umpteen resources that has shown her to be of 14 years old and is very much below the eligible age to participate in an olympic gymnastic competition .

Such incidents only make us feel satisfied with the medals India has received as we Indians never even think of cheating to win a medal.
