On my Friend's Wedding
Today was the wedding of Aarthi who has remained and will remain so as one of very few good and special frienz of mine
If I have to write about her, probably I will have to write for pages and pages.
If I have to rewind of the initial days of my college, then if I have to be frank then I need to write some truth.Initially some of her actions and behaviour had made me think that she is so silly or perhaps was overreacting to any situation. But friend I was wrong!(As most of the time I am)
Aarthi has very few good friends though she socialise with every one equally. If she accepts anyone as her friend, then you are fortunate enough as she doesn't mind going that extra mile for you and more over she is always there for you no matter whatever your problem is.
Many times it has so happened that I had thought about her and then the next minute I will have a call from her.Is this telepathy? I really don't know.
I have learnt a lot form her.To my astonishment she always surpasses my expectations. She can remain as a source of inspiration to many. She is a perfect example of the proverb,"Where there is a will, there is a way".
One more coincidence was that it started raining today and the weather in Chennai is so good that I don't feel like boarding my train to Hyderabad. But what to do I'll have to go.
Her marriage is something very special to me as I have known her for the past 11 years and her life has remained a open book and finally leaving Chennai to board my usual Charminar Express with utmost satisfaction.
She is a very simple, selfless, down to earth girl and I wish her all beautiful and pleasant memeories in all the days to come.Long live my friend!!

Prayers
All prayers from deep inside the heart never goes unanswered. This is one of my strongest beliefs though I'm not very particular about praying God and performing Pooja daily.Hence I consider both thiest and athiest on the same level infact atheist in a slightly upper level as the people who do not believe in the existence of God will go by their consiousness unlike many who for namesake and society perform Poojas.I have met so many people in my life who don't have any moral values for life but are particular in going to temple regularly.I simply laugh inside my heart for such people.
On the otherhand many god fearing people are also sincere in their beliefs and actions but I was not fortunate enough to meet many.
But personally I feel if there is a strong desire to do something in my life and if have been constantly thinking about it,I have been able to achieve it.Such strong desires are applicable for both personal and professional life and are the driving force for my life and I believe them to be prayers emanating directly from the heart.Such prayers have become inseparable part of my life.

Operation Laptop
Finally the "ENTER" key of my laptop was fixed by none other than the cute little angel ,my sister Prasanna.I can write pages and pages about her.She is 11 yrs younger than me but 1000 times better than me.A girl who is very simple in nature. When anyone meets her, in the first instance cannot even judge her.She will look very simple with a smiling face and moreover to a certain extent a girl who is not very active. But she sets her goal very clear and keep breaking her head trying to achieve it.When she does anything ,she does it so perfect that children of her age can hardly do.As time went on,I have turned out to become a big fan of her.She is one of my greatest inspiration .Really she has taught me so many things in my life.In fact when I came home for a week to Chennai, as she was a small girl,I had asked her not to touch and spoil my laptop further and did not even bother to show her what the problem was and for namesake had described the problem to her and explained how none of my friends at Hyderabad could set it right. She was just listening quietly and didnot tell that she will try to fix it as she was aware that I won't let her do it. So in my absence she had just fixed the "ENTER" key in 10 minutes time and called me to show me.This came as big surprise to me.I know that she is gud in solving sudoku puzlzles and the rubics cube but this skill of her was entirely new to me.So yet another great work by her.I'll always remain to be a proud sister of her and as always keep listening to her advice which she gives whenever I get confused in no matter how small or big the matter is.

Internet and the Nobel Peace Prize
Internet is one among the nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize 2010.This is really a very good thought. If I were one among the jury, then the internet would definitely be the winner. This will come as no surprise to anyone when compared with the last year's winner-Barack Obama.I have always wondered how the Father of my nation was never awarded this highest echelon.Every year as soon the nobel peace prize is announced, anyone is bound to find articles in leading Newspapers and in the internet that the Nobel Peace Prize had never been awarded to M.K.Gandhi but many of those who have been awarded always remembers him and claim to be his follwers. After all Mahatma Gandhi is above any Nobel Prize .If not for him who would have got all guts to fight the British thru nonviolence and ahimsa.I admire him a lot though the people who are not fully aware of him might oppose this opinion of me.
Coming to the story of the nomination of the internet:
The nomination was proposed by the Italian edition of Wired magazine for promoting "dialogue, debate and consensus through communication as well as democracy".
And the interesting part is that the nomination is also backed by 2003 noble peace laureate and exiled Iranian activist Shirin Ebadi.
Isn't it very nice.In this internet era, finding people is not a difficult task. All those whom we have met or studied or worked together are sure to be in any one of the social networking websites or at anypoint of time can be contacted thru email but it is upto us whether to keep in touch or not.
But my mother or any mother of lower middle class family especially Tamilians will no doubt be of the opinion that computer and mobile are the two destracting inventions till date atleast for school and college students as I have three of my younger siblings still in college and one in school. She is definitely right. The utility of anything be it an instrument, equipment or whatever it might be should never cross the limits.Otherwise it will loose it's charm.
So herez me wishing me all the very best for The Internet to win this year's Noble Peace Prize.

Paying Guest(PG)
Itz been more than a year almost I have settled at Hyderabad.Initially I was hesitant to accommodate myself in a sharing accommodation as I had lived independently at Malanjkhand. When I live alone I define everything-right from my morning walk to my night sleep.
But now after a year of having stayed in a PG,life has some flavors added to it.Right from beauty tips to going to theatres for watching movies,it has been fun all the way.Life in a PG is really a blessing if you find friends who have similar thoughts and above all,the stupid and nonsense thoughts which occupy the mind when staying alone is certainly avoided as I find friends giving suggestions on all topics under the sky.
Now Once again going to a remote place like Malanjkhand no longer occupies my thought though I can visit such places for a vacation, for a change of mind or officially as my work will demand it!

Act of irresponsibility
I'm very well known for my irresponsible actions. To a certain extent I'm learning to be responsible these days as life is bound to teach lessons whether one is interested in learning or not.I admire people who are perfect in whatever they do as I 'm not a perfectionist. The worst act of mine being today when I had dropped one big notebook of mine on my laptop and the enter key has come out.Scolding my self to such an extent.
Will be grateful to any good soul which can set it right!

Four liner
Give me some sunshine
Give me some rain
Give me another chance
I want to grow up once again.
Give me some rain
Give me another chance
I want to grow up once again.
Very nice lines.I really donot know if it is the original lines by "3 idiots" team or adapted from "Five Point Someone" by Chetan Bhagat.I have not read the book but watched the movie.Planning to read it sometime when I am free.Let me see.
Wise and Other Wise
"Wise and Other Wise" a book by Sudha Murthy is the one which I have read in recent times.I liked the title of the book and is by one of the ladies whom I admire a lot.I like the inspiring story of Infosys and the way it has grown all through the years and especially the story of Narayanamurthy and Sudha.I hardly miss any article about them .For that matter whenever I come across articles or news about Subramaniya Bharathi,Sushmitha Sen,Shah Rukh Khan ,Martina Navaratilova and very recently Leander Paes and Katrina Kaif,I hardly miss.
Coming back to my book review, all the stories in "Wise and Other Wise " are written very short and crisp.I also felt like I can write upto a pagelength on most of her topics in the book .I agreed with her in most of the places and in some places I could not agree with her.But thatz what it is all about. How can I fully agree with anyone on all topics under the earth!
I like to read short stories rather than novels.I hardly read novels and I prefer Indian writing which I can associate myself with and I dose off every time when any body gives me non Indian novels.I really take years to complete them.

Ayirathil Oruvan
Ayirathil Oruvan - a movie which I had seen in the theatre after a very long gap say after so many years.I feel that this movie is one in which the director is not sure of the message or his intention.
When I watched the first half of the movie,I got a fair idea that the dir was trying something new for the Tamil cinema. So it was Ok...within the limits(tolerable) rather.
The movie's theme or central idea is that the search of a famous archaeologist.
In the second half of the movie, this central idea is left behind and Reema Sen is given all powers(Don't really reveals from where she gets all that).
A movie worth watching not even once...
Director's intention is laudable but there seems to be lots of confusions in the second half.So itz waste trying to watch and trying to understand.
It was a waste of both time and money(for my friend who has taken me to the theatre).
Hence my rating is 0.5 in a scale of 1-10.

Good Bye 2009
As 2009 is coming to an end,I look back at it very gracefully.Professionally the best year till date.2009 had kept me busy all throught out the year except for June wherein I didnot travel anywhere. If there were no official tours,I was making a trip to my house atleast once in a month unlike Malanjkhand from where coming to my house was a herculean task as I was able to come once in six months to my house.
A year far more satisfying as the year started with me getting into BARC and ending with my official training at IISc-the two big names in Science and technology.

Government Posting
There are a million aspirants for government postings in India because of the security it provides. When anyone enters into a government service, one is sure to find out few kith and kin of the fellow colleagues working in the same organisation. For eg,I was astonsihed to see the father, daughter and son in law working in the same AMD.It really hurts me because the thousand others who have applied for the same post are made fools.
Competition should by all means reflect it's meaning.
Is this pity situation because of the government policies...or is this because of the mediocre thinking of the below average human being.
Whatever it is, the loopholes in the recruitment of all the governmet organisations must be mended otherwise prosperity will be beyond the reach and sight of the common man who has blind faith that sometime some good thing will happen in his life.

Universal gas constant
Many times I have asked myself what is universal gas constant which I have been studying for so many years.
During my school days,I used to mug up the value of the value of Universal gas constant because the units are sure to be as one question in objective type.So...
During my school days it was like:
R=8.314 J/mol/K
R=1.987 cal/mol/K.
Oh! I need to mug up the unit...OK...J/mol/K...Cal/mol/K...In my exams, atlast I used to get confused and mark wrong answer!!!
I used to think in my mind why people have discovered so many units(SI,CGS etc.) just to confuse everyone....especially students....
Universal gas constant doesn't end with school.Infact it is the beginning...
In college as I had taken Chemical Engg(Without even being now aware of what the subjects are!),So universal gas constant was bound to continue...
Aarthi,my teacher during my B.Tech days with whose help I have just passed...just passed many exams... used to teach so many chemical Engg. subjects especially problems. So she used to say Ok,then...
"In this problem you have to put the value of R and 2-3 Eqns.S the problem is solved...."
After a gap of so many years...R is still not leaving me...
Now as a Scientific Officer,my HOD asks me, " why don't you calculate the enthalpy of Pyrite oxidation and Free energy of Uranium oxidation".
Myself:Ok,Sure sir!
Next...Going to the library to search Enthalpy, entropy and gibb's free energy.
Accidently I come across R once again. As the book(Moore's Chemical Metallurgy) was interesting and teaching me all the basics,I got to know what finally R is :
For gases, molar heat capacity is found to vary i.e.value of Molar Heat capacity of gases at Consant Pressure vary from Molar Heat capacity of gases at Consant Volume and this variation is found to be almost constant for all gases and that is why it is called as Universal Gas constant and is also equal to Cp-Cv.
That is the reason why it is called
Universal as it is applicable to most of the gases
Gas as it is applicabe to gases
Constant as the value is almost found to be constant.
Eureka!Atlast I found it.Like this, there are so many questions in my mind.If I find answers,I definitely will write them.

After a long gap...
Yesterday after a long gap my friend gave me Kumudam from one of the fellow passengers in the Charminar train. After my post B.Tech days,my brother practised me the habit of reading Ananda Vikatan and I started enjoying it.But when in 2007 I had to go to Malanjkhand,I was totally cut of from reading this weekly magazine-A magazine which had taught me so many things in my life.
Now having read a similar magazine(Kumudam) yesterday had brought me back the memories of my yesteryears and gave me great satisfaction.

IRONY OF LIFE
I had spent one year and nine months in Malanjkhand which is supposed to be a jungle compared to a city like Hyderabad where I presently work.I also frequently visit Jharkhand for my official purpose.
Somethings are really ironic in life. One such thing happened yesterday in my office at Hyderabad.
In both these places(Malanjkhand and Jharkhand) I've not seen two big snakes fighting with each other.Such a seen I was able to see at Hyderabad only.Probably snakes also prefer cities!!!

Hyderabad-City of Colourful Gulmohar flowers.
Hyderabad-My job's new found location.Because of my education I had been visiting so many places in India-Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata,Assam,Jharkhand,Madhya Pradesh,Bhopal,Nagpur to name a few and at present I'm housed at Begumpet,Andhra Pradesh.Though initially I didnot like the place,as days passed, almost five months,I have slowly tried to accomodate myself in the new place(Minimum time duration for me to accomodate to a new place is one year).Hyderabad to me is a city of gulmohars-As gulmohars of different colours are there wherever I go whether it's my PG,office or in the Dwaraka's colony park where I go for walking occassionally. So my new found friend to share, is the Gulmohar tree which its huge branches and colourful flowers. Its been very pleasant to gaze at the beautiful and aesthetic gulmohar flowers as they give peace to the wandering heart.

SCRAPING X CLASS EXAMS
The proposal to scrap the X class boardexams as far as I'm concerned is one of the most important moves. It will give a big blow to the tuition centres which are minting money in the name of coaching and a big relief from children who will be pressurised to excel in the exams both from their parents and teachers.Mr.Kapil Sibal must also ensure that a lot of vocational subjects are included in the curriculum so that students can have an idea of an industry or a research life.
There must be as many practical classes as possible so that Indian children will be enriched in knowledge.
Education should give more importance to values, the Indian culture and at the same time be world class.Children must also be taught in such a way that they can enjoy their childhood to the fullest extent possible.
Above all quality education must no longer remain a distant dream for the underprivileged children.
Will the present government look into all these features?

Shameful Act
In our country ,throwing shoes at politicians these days have become a casual occurence in public meetings or press conferences.
The first one was aimed at Mr.P.Chidambaram.Though I was indifferent in the beginning,my mother told me that in the US,shoes were thrown at Bush, not by a non-American."But look at the condition of India wherein one amongst us had did this shameful act."
Only then I realised what a shameful act has happened in our country.
But did it stop there? Two more such incidents followed this: One at Mr.Advani and the other was attempted by not so good college student for the sake of mere publicity at the PM himself?
Where are heading as a nation is a real big ?
